What is Process Communication Model®?

The Process Communication Model® (PCM) is a globally renowned tool for understanding personality, motivation, and communication.

As a researcher of transactional analysis, clinical psychologist Dr Taibi Kahler uncovered patterns of distress behavior that all humans possess and identified conditions that individuals need to thrive.

Along the way, Dr. Kahler also identified six Personality Types that we all have within us and can connect to. Understanding these types lets us predict our own and others’ behaviors, prevent disengagement or distrust, and boost changes for the better.

PCM has been trusted by NASA, Pixar, AirNZ, Microsoft, Woolworths, AIG, and other leading organisations to build teams, resolve conflicts, and enhance relationships.

PCM helps you:

  • Observe and decode behaviour objectively, not just through your own filters.

  • Understand and communicate with different personality types.

  • Detect and correct miscommunication before it creates a problem.

  • Better navigate challenging times.

  • Learn how to keep yourself in a state of well-being.

How does PCM work?

PCM is unique in that it adapts to evolving personalities. It’s not a snapshot of a point in time, but rather a roadmap that shows where you’ve been, where you might be going, and how best to navigate that path.

Many ‘soft’ or ‘human’ skills concepts and communication models are generic, offering a one-size-fits-all approach that fails to show how to connect with each person on their level.

Yes, there’s a personality profile, but think of it as just a starting point for managing yourself and learning. PCM offers a way to understand human behaviour and adjust your communication to meet each person’s unique needs. While PCM does categorise personality types, it’s not about boxing people in. Instead, it gives us a shared language for interacting.

Strengthen Team Dynamics

Understand others and create genuine relationships with colleagues, clients, and even apply PCM to your personal life.

Conflict Resolution

Identify communication breakdowns before they escalate, where the other person is coming from, and have the tools to help defuse those difficult situations.

Enhance Self-Awareness

Be more self-aware and manage yourself better because you know what inspires you. You'll understand your own needs, communication styles, and their impact on others.

Meet your trainer

Hi, I’m Teesha, a certified PCM trainer and facilitator. Before stepping into the General Manager role at Strictly Savvy, I knew that truly understanding people - beyond just the surface - was the key to great leadership. Leading a team (of up to 30 at some points), and winning a leadership award in 2021, reinforced just how critical it is to relate to each and every individual in order to lead effectively and achieve success together.

I first started my PCM journey in 2019, where I learnt about my own profile, strengths and weaknesses, and realised quickly that this was an incredible toolbox for self-development. Now as a certified PCM trainer and facilitator, I've helped people better understand themselves, their workmates, families, clients, and managers. I love watching others experience those 'ah-ha' moments and empowering them to be their unique selves, decode their behaviours, and realise they can connect with anyone.
